Welcome to Christ Church Cockfosters

MISSION PARTNERS

Christ Church sees itself as part of the worldwide church of God. We provide financial and prayer support to many organisations, including the following with which former or current members of the church are employed.

Partners overseas

Steve and Alison Nicolle, Wycliffe Bible Translators, Kenya

Steve and Alison Nicolle
Wycliffe Bible Translators, Kenya

Steve and Ali both work with the Summer Institute of Linguists' (SIL) branch of Wycliffe Bible Translators and are currently based in Nairobi, Kenya. Since completing the translation of the Digo New Testament in 2007, Steve has been teaching translation at the Nairobi Evangelical Graduate School of Theology (NEGST) as well as writing various linguistics papers and, since November last year, he has also taken on the role of SIL Africa Area Linguistics Coordinator. Ali works as part-time editor for SIL Africa Area. The three Nicolle children are all in full-time education in Nairobi.

We also have another partner working with Wycliffe, doing literacy work with nomadic communities in Chad, but for security reasons we can't give you more details.

Wycliffe Bible Translators translate and distribute the scriptures in minority languages, combined with related literacy and language development. Website: www.wycliffe.org.uk

Steve and Caroline Sanderson, BMS World Mission, Uganda

Steve and Caroline Sanderson
BMS World Mission, Uganda

Four years have passed since Steve and Caroline went to Uganda with BMS to work with the Ugandan Christian Laywers' Fellowship (UCLF). They continue to train national paralegals to tackle the justice and peace issues prevalent in a war torn land. It is likely that 2008 was their last year in Kampala, before God willing they head for Northern Uganda to set up a UCLF base in Gulu. Their young daughter enjoys life in Uganda.
