For many people marriage is something so special that they want to have the opportunity to ask God to support them and bless them as they marry, so getting married in church is very appropriate.
For those who are planning to get married we offer a marriage preparation course. This will help you to be ready for some of the joys and pitfalls ahead! One of the clergy will take the service but you are free to involve friends and family where this is appropriate.
To be married at Christ Church you need legally either to be a regular member of the church or to live in our parish area (contact the Church Office for details). If one of the partners marrying has been married already and their former spouse is still living, we do not normally conduct remarriages, but we are however very pleased to offer a full service of blessing after civil marriage, to express God's new start and to pray for your marriage.
