As well as people singing and playing music at our services, we need people who can listen! The sound system operator at each service is responsible for helping to set up and sound-check during the pre-service rehearsal, and maintaining levels and balance during the service for both musicians and speakers. Each operator typically covers two services each month.
At present we need more people willing to be trained to serve in this area at all services. More recently opportunities for service and training have developed in the COSMIC groups. For more information please contact David Hooke.
Our Visual operators provide a key service in enabling our acts of worship to run smoothly. Operators have to gain familiarity with worship songs and the service liturgy in order to successfully operate the system, which uses MediaShout software.
On a normal Sunday, operators have to be committed to setting up camera positions and checking services 1½ hours before the service starts, loading in any last minute media elements (video, DVD, presentation etc), and then remaining focused for the service in order to facilitate the integration of all the varied visual and media elements.
