As Christians we believe that Jesus commands us to be baptised, as a sign of the promises God makes. That is, He promises forgiveness of our sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit to anyone who turns to Him in faith. As a Church of England church we baptise (or christen) the children of Christian families, as well as adults who come to faith later and have never been baptised. Baptisms take place in our main Sunday services at 9.00am, 10.30am and 7.00pm.
There is a short preparation course for parents asking for their children to be baptised, and you may also find it helpful to join the Discover course to deepen your faith at the same time. Contact the Vicar for details of baptism.
