Activities for pre-school children and their parents

Sunday mornings

During our 10.30am service we have groups designed to be the perfect place to leave your under 5s where they can play, learn and grow.

These groups are held at Trent Primary School (next to the church) and start at 10.15am to give you time to register and walk across to church for the start of the service. Children are collected and join with the church for the final part of the service.

Little Stars For 0 - 18 months: Little Stars is a crèche facility with a caring and safe atmosphere. Our leaders give personalised and individual attention to each baby and work with your preferences and routine.
Shooting Stars For 18 months - 3 years: At this age of exploration, we believe toddlers can begin exploring the Bible already. Stories, craft, songs and free play make Shooting Stars a fun learning experience.
Rockets For 3 - 4 years: Rockets has a variety of toys to amuse every child. The Bible stories get the children involved and interested and there is a time for craft and singing so that every Sunday children can take home a new lesson about God.

Midweek

Mothers and Others is a parent/toddler group run by members of Christ Church. It meets in Church House every Thursday during school term time, from 1.30 - 3.00pm. There are various activities during the afternoon, such as painting, water play, and play dough, and singing / story time at 2.30pm. The entrance fee is 70p per family.

Christ Church Pre-School has been running since 1984, and meets in the warm and pleasant lower back hall in Church House from 9.30am to midday during school term time. It accepts children from 2½ to school age, and many children go on from it to Trent School.

We receive nursery grants for 3 and 4 year olds, which cover 33 weeks of the year. We are part of the Early Years Development Partnership and offer a curriculum based on the national "Early Learning Goals" and "Birth to Three Matters". Our fees are currently £11.50 per session.

We believe all our children are entitled to provision that supports and extends their knowledge, skills, understanding and confidence, and helps them to overcome any disadvantage. We intend that every child should feel included, secure and valued.

Our Children's Minister or any of the staff team will be happy to tell you more. You can also check our OFSTED reports.

Contact: Parents of young children may also be interested in Contact, our daytime meetings for socialising and Bible study, including a crèche for small children.
